Ah each to his own Andy, my preference is for Middle Wallop with its vast open spaces and skies. Possibly the fact that is hallowed ground help,s as it was a sector station in WWll.

Not that I don't love Old Warden too, it just takes a bigger effort to get there.
As for the weather, Roger, the two forecasts I have at present are complete opposites, one is perfect, the other is dire. So we will have to wait and see again until the last minute.

The grass is usually cut before August so that should be fine.

I must say that it was a real thrill to me to be able to attend an event at the legendary Old Warden and witness an unexpectedly large number of Jetex/Rapier models in spectacular flight.

And not only that, but to have the pleasure of meeting in person many of the legendary names associated with Jetex flying: Andy Blackwell (and his dad!), Chris Strachan, Tony Butterworth ... And of course, Roger, and to be in his company for three memorable days - and to tour the Shuttleworth Collection with him.

For someone who came onto the Jetex.org scene last century when it was just a somewhat haphazard collection of bits and bobs accumulated by Edward Jones, its founder, this OW meet seemed to me like an apogee of Jetex history - particularly when one of Roger's models attained its own amazingly altitudinous apogee in the skilled hands of Andy.

Greetings all,
Too kind John, it's seldom we have even half decent weather and it's quite difficult to forecast too! I can remember just a handful of windless days this year, none of which I was in a position to profit from. Glad you enjoyed your visit and it was a pleasure to meet you.

Yours,
Andy.
