Thanks guys.

It weighs 0.95 grams

Thrust is only a few grams. :(

It is aimed at the smallest, lightest, lowest wing loading jet you can make. :D

I have stared the plans for the model I have in mind but free time is always limited and the projects many.

I have sourced materials on the net that I hope to put together to make an EDF capsule as an alternative to jetex motors. It would be about 18 -20mm diameter and so have the same outer dimensions as a jetex50.
Would it be best to simply design my own mount for the models? I was thinking of making it so the jetex could be unclipped and the EDF be clipped in, so no fuss swap out. :)

I don’t think us oldies who loved the Jetex era are all that interested in electricery and in any case there are getting fewer and fewer of us. I think the bigger market is younger where few will have a Jetex mount available so why limit your market to the nostalgia group? My two pennyworth.
Is it a silly dream to think of a mostly foam Valiant or Victor with 4 Nano units with a total thrust of 12mN and AUW of 15g for free flight?

As a follow up to my last posting, a suitable model for indoor 'nano' (or 'ultra-micro' EDF would be my Corsair:

this is a proven flyer and, made of sheet Depron (or foam) and wingspan of say 6 inches would look (and sound) great in the large sports hall we use for indoor meetings. It will give the lightweight duration guys a bit of a shock too.

When can we expect a prototype unit (complete with powertrain etc) to test? Could it be ready for the UK indoor flying season?

Please, pretty please!

Another suitable model is the Cutlass:

A Cutlass with a pusher motor/prop at the rear works well, but EDF would be so much cooler. B)

Do we yet know what thrust the 10 mm unit will give? Also, some idea of the powertrain - battery, controller etc would be good.

Over to you, Dave! :P

I think 15-20mm edf on 1S would be best for indoors. :)
I'm working on them but slow going with other projects etc sharing my time. I'll get some to you when I can. :D

RR comments : excellent! I look forward to giving all the indoor 'Butterfly boys' a bit of a shock.
