Hi all,
could I please ask if anyone here has built this kit, and if so, did you find any problem with the fuselage formers?
I started a VMC Hunter earlier, and have just run into a problem, in that one of the formers seems to be hopelessly out of line. Referring to the plan, it is former 5, and as you can see from the photo, it's not really correct.... I only noticed it when I came to add the root rib (part G) and found that it wasn't going to fit. I've stared at it for ages, even tried offering up the former from the other side upside down (just in case) - but no...
Grateful for any advice, thanks...

Can you swing the camera around a bit so we can see the plan and F5 at the same time please?
F6 is blocking the view,

thanks - but I've got it. It's amazing how walking away, and a god night's sleep can help!
Just for the record - I had misinterpreted how former 5 sits over part 'J', and sanded it to fit. Having removed the former and offered up the one for the other side, I could see how it was supposed to fit.

Hi Dave, here are a couple of pics of my KK Hunter I built years ago, I had to reshape the intake fairings quite a bit to get them to look more scale as they are too deep as drawn. I made lots of other little mods as you can probably see. The model flies really well though so worth the efforts. You should let VMC know if you find any of the former outlines are incorrect. I should finish properly it one day!!!

Thanks for that Howard - I think - mine is never going to look as nice as that, although you have certainly given me food for thought about improving the model. As far as I know, there is no problem with the VMC kit - just a lesson in not working on something like this when tired! Totally my mistake, now rectified.

Thanks Dave but we all stand on the shoulders of others, what you see in my Hunter is some patience and the result of studying the work of Doug McHard, Mike Stuart, Peter Smart and Richard Crossley and many other scale masters. They set the bench marks with these little models for the rest of us to the strive for.
