The current version of the Bucc weighs 53gms and would certainly need nose weight as its quite tail heavy.

However, I'm going to try again with different settings to print a slightly larger model, 300mm span and try and get the weight down to 30gms! I may be on a hiding to nothing here but if you don't bet you can't win. We'll see.

A wonderful flight! I am astonished this is with an L-1 motor. With a larger, more powerful L-2 (or even L-3) it is likely to go supersonic!

Worth a try!

A beautiful flight and a great shape in the air, many thanks for posting. You have inspired me to make a new Slinki for 150mN motors.

You will remember the estimable Richard Crossley had some very tasty 'jet' models that he wished to pass on to good homes. Daniel bought several finished models (and very nice they are too) and an unfinished Aerographics Sukhoi Su-11, which he has now finished:

Daniel writes: "Richard built and covered the wings and fuz, no empanage and I merely assembled and painted…test flights needed". :)

Serndipitously, I have a partially built Aerographics Sukhoi Su-11 which I shelved some years ago when Rapier L-2HP motors were no longer available.

Now that we have a TSP L-2 motor of similar (or greater) power I have no excuse not to complete it.

I enjoyed Richard's ‘recent AeroModeller’ article on finishing models with panel lines and different textures (almost as much as I my ‘Jetex’ article in the previous issue!) and it got me thinking. I’m sure the Su-11's ‘vanilla plain’ silver/aluminium finish could be much enhanced using the techniques Richard describes.

This will give me the incentive to get back into some ‘proper’ building after spending all too long developing and proving the range of TSP profile kits, and, as Richard wrote to me, "Perhaps you and Daniel can form an SU-11 display team with smoke on?

Rocket Cat and rocket models ... two Swifts which I have recently completed. The silver one is a KK kit from VMC, finished as a Type 535 ('Prometheus' from the film 'The Sound barrier') rather than a true Swift. The camouflaged one is a PR Mk. 5, scratch built from a Skyleada plan, though I don't think that it is as good as the Keil Kraft design. Still to fly when it's a bit cooler.
