Hi All,
Last weekend saw me flying my X-1 with the TSP L-2. The first batch.
They lite up easy using jetex fuse. The only slight concern was about 50% of the motors burnt through their walls. Luckily the retaining tube of the X-1 prevented any mid air combustion.
I have put videos on YouTube and information on my Facebook pages - Vintage model company and tissue and balsa.
There was a lot of interest and have forward them to the jetex.org page and mentioned Roger’s name.

It's really good to see videos of guys flying successfully flying with the new TSP motors. These are giving really smooth flights.
Also very pleased Phil didn't lose his model with the burn throughs.

The early '150 mN' TSP motors are somewhat prone to this. You will be pleased to know that the later TSP L-2HP motors are much more reliable and robust. Boring out the nozzle to 1.7-1.8 mm will give you the equivalent performance to the '150 mN' motors. This thrust seems to suit the lovly Bell X-1 perfectly.

Well done Phil!

Phil also has a (Keil Kraft?) Javelin which needs a bit more trimming, but has potential. Here is Phil launching the Javelin:

I hope Phil persists with this model:

It’s in fact a Skyleada model
It needs just a little shift of c of g to the front.
Looking forward to next flight.

Very nice flights especially in the blustery conditions, congratulations and thank you for posting about them, much appreciated. The Javelin looks very tasty too, keep us informed how you get on with it. I once saw another nice Javelin flying at Old Warden but it kept veering off to the left or right into the ground so would not stay airborne for long. I heard others say they thought the big fin was overpowering the model but I have found that you often you get this behavior if the CG is too far forward.
