Today I went to Buckminster to try rocket flying: mixed results. First, the Skyjet 100. I must have launched it without enough speed, so it stalled and crashed, breaking the tail boom. Ho hum ... next the Skyjet 50 with Tendera L2. This flew brilliantly. Too well; it got in a thermal and vanished into the blue ...
Then I tried a couple of small models with the old type motors, but couldn't get them to start. I tried ald Jetex fuse but it didn't start them; the new Tender fuse was too big. I'll have to drill the nozzles out to try them. Anyone know where I can get some extra fuses? They are green and you can't see them in the grass ...

Hi JJ,
Lighting the earlier TSP motors can be difficult without a hot electric igniter, and they need boring out, or drilling out quite carefully. I have a stash of TSP fuses which I can send you if you give me your address (email me directly) but have you yet invested in an electric igniter (see the forum thread about lighting motors on the flying field)?

Congrats that you managed to get the Skyjet 50 to fly so well and commiserations that you lost it to the thermal and bent the Skyjet 100, mixed blessings as it were!
Roger's advice on igniting motors is well worth following.

This is another video of my flying with TSP L1 motor. I get the idea that thrust is somewhat inconsistent.
