TOPIC: Peterboro Flying Aces 2026

I hope to oversee the ‘Jetex/Rapier’ events at Peterborough Flying Aces (PFA) 2026 on Sept 19th. I have enough TSP L-1 motors to support jet duration and, as of now, I am happy to provide packs of TSP L-1 and L-2 motors to any jet modeller so they they take part in the jet scale competition. There might even be a trophy!
Many suitable plans of all sorts can be found at our own : www.jetex.org/jetex_plans/index.php ) and kits are available from the Vintage Model Company (VMC). So now’s the time to get building! TSP profile kits, the Skyray, Alpha Jet and Iskra, are still available from VMC (see: ( www.vintagemodelcompany.com/jetex ) and very nice they are too. All are proven flyers. The Gripen for TSP for L-1 goes particularly well, but all, with just a modicum of trimming, would definitely be very competitive at PFA. And please don’t ignore the profile plans published by the estimable ‘Aeromodeller’: Howard Metcalfe’s lovely Hawk in August 2014, the T-38 Talon in March 2021 and the semi-profile F-15 in June 2023. The F-15 is a splendid flier, but a more complex build and not perhaps for the faint hearted!

PFA is a great meeting, usually blessed with clement autumnal weather. Given even a modest revival of its ‘Jetex/Rapier’ competitions I hope it will go out with, well, perhaps not a bang, but definitely a woosh!

Unless we have a deluge or two of Biblical proportions in the next few weeks, rocketry at PFA wiill be confined to EDF jets. We really don't want to set fire to the venue!
