Thought I would add some structural strength to the Vampire while simplifying constructing the ducting.
0.4mm wall thickness. In the printer now. Only 5 hours left.... :S :S

Hopefully this image will clear things up as to what I am doing. Here's the Vampire ducting. It was 3D printed at 0.4mm wall thickness. I have some sticky tape holding the 2 halves together for the photo. That's the 20mm EDF fan unit sitting behind it. :)

I am in awe, it is way beyond my knowledge base, I would have to do it in moulded balsa somehow. Hope the central dividing wall close to the fan does not cause it to screech, I have seen it happen on larger edf models.

Hi guys,
just back from 'hols'  3D printing is coming on apace. In the old days we made do with paper mache!

Terry has sent me two models for Rapier/Jetex printed in a very light plastic honeycomb. These were fabricated by, I believe, a very sophisticated 3D printer. The look superb and weigh about the same as a tissue/stick model. Being an 'old codger' I too must confess that 3D printing, and even CAD are not part of my skill set. I'll post about the Typhoon and the Buccaneer (for such they are) when I've got over the shock! :P
As a matter of interest, Dave, how much does all that ducting weigh?

I've finally got to apply decals to the Tiger. These were printed using 'Experts Choice' decal sheet, which worked OK. There was some 'silvering' of the larger ones, but not too bad.

I'll now glue in the motor mount and line the trough with foil. And wait for a calm day ...:)
