Hi Piotr, that's splendid. We are all looking forward to the next models. I have had a request for an F-35. Tricky!

Roger sent me one of his kits he received from Piotr but sadly it arrived in a very poor condition (see picture !).

For the second time a row a kit had been bent by someone or something during transport. This time it was even worse for every single component was broken or at least partially fractured.
Nevertheless I started building the MIG-19 by agglutinating the broken parts.
After more or less succeeding in doing this, the kit went together easily.
As stated before, Piotr’s kits are probably one of the most comprehensive kits available, with really everything you need to complete an attractive model plane.

All parts are accurately precut and prepainted while assembly is straightforward. I refused to add the Soviet emblems and selected the Polish nationality markings which came also with the kit.

The model can also be built as a simple catapult glider or for taking a the L2 HP motor. However I will try to fly it with a Jetex 50 C which is now installed approximately centric beneath the front wing.
Glides the garden with an empty motor this afternoon were successful while CG also as indicated on the plan.

I would like to thank Piotr Tendera for developing kits like these and hope it‘ll fly as good as it looks.

Ready for takeoff !

Piotr has sent me samples of his Gripen, MiG 19 and Spark which I'm looking forward to putting together. I'll write about my exploits when I'm done.

A few more pictures :

If you intend to install the starting hook I suggest to drill a hole (2 mm) into the fuselage before instead of hammering the hook in. While following the instructions the balsa burst. No big problem but you can avoid extra glueing.

Peter, it's a pity to see how they treated this MIG-19 set in the post office ... But I see that you dealt with the damage from it quite well! I am curious about the relationship with flying this kit using the old Jetex 50 engine!

Roger, I was thinking of the F-35 as well as the MIG-29 as a project for the kit, it is doable but very problematic, maybe sometime in the future, further future ...

So far we are preparing F4D Skyray for the L-2 and AlphaJet for the L-1.if it goes well, they will be on offer in less than a month.

Roger adds:

That's great Piotr, thank you. B)

I've got started on the kits that Piotr sent me and I must say how comprehensive they are with ready printed parts, decals, paint and glue.

I'll start with the Saab Griphen which is sized for L1.
I notice a few anomalies with the instructions and plan which I'm going to enumerate as I go.

Firstly the wings. These are shown as having a built in diehdral angle, the plan shows 2-3mm at section B and 5-7mm at section A. (the wing doesn't go that far forward.) so this may refer to the foreplanes. The instruction sheet, on the other hand says 4-5mm on the tips and the foreplanes, which are refered to as the tailplanes, should be 90 degrees to the fuselage.

In my experience delta wings, and wings with a lot of sweep back seem not to require diehdral which of course is there to generate stability in roll. The Bill Dean Skyray, as seen in my video, manages quite nicely without any diehdral at all.

In this case I'll follow the plan and keep the foreplanes square to the fuselage.
