Roger I’ve tried to contact you with the email address you gave with your previous post and I have had my email returned as not sent as the address is incorrect , I’ve also tried using .com instead of .co at the end of the address but I don’t know if this is correct could you check the address and maybe your spam folder for me , sorry to be a pain .

Hi Everyone.
I found this forum whilst browsing for L2 rapier motors. I have note been an active modeller for a few years but have found new interest in the recent weeks of lockdown. Some years ago I built an Aerographics Bell XS-1 from Sams Models as JETEX motors were no longer available I went the L2 route and had some success though it seemed to lack the performance I was expecting with short flight times and not gaining any real height.
While I have seven L2's left and a few fuses which I have kept in an airtight storage box I am reluctant to use them.
Can anyone give me a view as to availability of the ones made in Poland and availability of an electric igniter as I would love to get the model airborne again.
Regards...Chris

Hi Everyone.
Having recently discovered this thread I am wondering if there is any chance in obtaining any motors. I blt an Aerographics Bell XS-1 several years ago and flew it on Rapier L2's it was a little underpowered. Would be great to give it another go. Also I see the latest way to go is with an electric igniter and any advice on availability of these would be appreciated.
Regards...Chris

Hi Chris,

A box of 10 TSP L-2L motors will cost you £25.00 plus £3.50 p&Pp Igniters (modified Cord Zaps) are still available:

see: Igniter for Rapiers and Tender motors
Postage is again £3.50, so motors plus igniter will put you back £57.00 :)

Early field reports are that they behave well. One word of warning: they are a bit bigger than the Rapier L-2, so some butchery of your Bell XS-1's motor mount will be required.

Thanks for the reply Roger. That's great news I'll look how best to modify the model and get an order off to you. I did follow the link in your post and saw the igniter but not the L2L's (Unless I'm doing something silly)

Roger comments: I've replied with details etc by email, Chris.

Following requests for a more powerful motor Piotr has been testing his new TSP L-5 which he opines, "Will be big enough for any model you can build, or even a trip to the moon":

These are of course likely to be quite expensive and storage and transport too are a challenge. I think I'll stick to the L-1 and L-2 type variants!
