Thanks, I've not had a lot of luck with that method, I found the decals were far too fragile, perhaps I needed more coats of clear acrylic, will try it again sometime.

It looks great in the air but also seems a reactive little beast, well done for keeping it one piece, the heading shot here looks like the real thing. Not screaming too noisily either, great.

Roger adds,

Lovely photos - EDF is obviously a viable option, if still needing a fair amount of skill and expertise.
As Howard says, the DH 108 Swallow looks great in the air and goes like a bat out of the proverbial! Twitchy little blighter, too - way, way beyond my piloting skills. As for taming its waywardness, would moving the CG forward and reducing the throw of the elevons help?

But wow! Way to go! Now, how to get some smoke coming out the rear end? (the Swallow's, not yours).

As you may have heard, 'Aerographics' (SAMS Models') has now been subsumed into the Vintage Model Company. VMC seem to be growing apace, and eating up kit manufacturers - West Wings' was to them, I suppose, just a light snack! It's a pity (not everything SAMS Models supplied can be obtained from VMC, but that's the way of the World.

The point of this posting is that some while ago Aerographics had a rather nice EDF Mig 15 in the pipeline:

This looks less tricky than the DH 108 Swallow! How about it, Dave? :)

I'm eyeing up the next build already Roger. I just got my resin 3D printer yesterday and am testing it out to get to know it before printing a resin version of the fan housing. :)
As for the model - so many choices like this one you have shared!

Meanwhile, I just got back from the field this afternoon after doing a quick mod to the jet.... the video will explain it. But, Wow! What a difference a simple mod can make! Check out how fast and stable this little sucker is now!

Brilliant, too fast and too small for my R/C capability these days though. Have fun.

Roger Adds: Outstanding performance - way to go. I don't really understand how a 'Cheetah hole' can make such a difference to its stability and controlability - perhaps a couple of photos and would make it clearer.

I'm glad I went back to freeflight when I did - there is no way I could ever have controlled the Swallow! Is there a throttle? Seemed to go at an underpants threatening speed to this old guy!:woohoo:
