FURNACE
Description: 6 inch wingspan simple structure for the Jetex Payloader 150 Engine. Furnace, by Paul DelGatto.

Offering spectacular straight-up climb, excellent stability in all flight attitudes and a truly fine glide, the Furnace is an optimum model for the Jetex 150. Easily attaining altitudes of 300 to 500 feet, it averages well over two minutes. Flights of three minutes duration are commonplace without thermal assist.

Both design and construction are simple and straight forward. This is one model that really can be built in an evening. Even for those who are painstaking, a few hours leisurely work produces a good flying product.

A span of approximately 25 in and a chord of 4-3/8 in provide an area of about 110 square inches, just right for high performance under power, with good controlability - and an impressive soaring glide.

Two features insure this power-on controlability. One is the long tail-moment arm (considerably more than half-span) and the other is a three-degree decalage (angular difference between wing and tail settings) for maximum longitudinal stability and recovery capability. The rather generous tip dihedral works very well with this set-up to achieve smooth flight performance.
