Hi guys,
Please note the date:
it is not too early to be thinking what you will be flying at this this prestigious meeting. Of particular interest for us are the events for 'Jetex/one shot' motors.
Below is an extract from the 'flyer' for these competitions:
These are fun and unstressful - I, being Contest Director (no less) will ensure everyone will have a good time (
I have spare motors), so I would urge you to come along and 'have a go'.
For the scale classes, there is a nominal score for likeness of the model to the real aeroplane and workmanship etc, but the main scores are for launch, climb out, cruise and landing. So a competitor's skill in choosing a suitable motor, knowing where, when and how to launch are paramount.
That said, it is the nature of rocket flying to be unpredictable:
so actually everyone has a chance and a good (or lucky!) flight will win the day.
Like last year, I will be supplying the TSP L-1 motors for duration event, so the competition is, so to speak, a 'level playing field.
The weather is generally very kindly at this time of the year.
I hope to see you there - The more smoke trails we create on the day the happier I shall be!
