Here are some nice flying videos and a few construction pics of a very neat semi-profile Avro Arrow made from 3mm and 5mm Depron foam and weighs12g. The FB link is from Piotr Tendera who (of course) makes the TSP motors. The motor appears to be a TSP L-1 and the 100mN thrust it gives explains the spectacular cavortings of the model on the flying field. At this point in time the builder of the model is not known [but see later].
This is all good stuff! A lovely model and I like the look of the igniter, which looks quite robust and sophisticated. I wonder where it came from or how he made it. I hope we can find out!
If anyone is interested in building an Avro Arrow, made one some time ago for Rapier L-2.
Details on request.

I have extracted some photos of the semi-profile Avro Arrow from the FB posting. I hope they don't mind.
First, some from the building sequence:
and of the finished splendid model:
And thence to the flying field:
I loved the flying video. With 100 mN oomph up its jet pipe, and weighing only 12 grams [without motor] the model went like the proverbial bat outa. Very exciting, though some may prefer something statelier as befits the prototype.
Flying was obvously in the calm twilight/evening gloaming. Wonderful conditions for flying rocket planes and I it was good to see the glow of the TSP L-1's exhaust.
Latest from Piotr on the subject.
"Very nice, the guy from the movie knows the JETEX forum, he is very excited about these engines, he will run a modeling workshop in the big city of Płock, he has a lot of children in classes, they will build models during classes in the new school year on TSP Jetex type engines"

Hello. My name is Marcin. I am a modeler and modeling instructor from Płock. I run a modeling shop for children. It's an honor to be on this Forum. The Avro Arrow model is my own creation. It flies powered by the engine from Piotr Tendera, i.e. L1, and it actually flies very well. I'm refining the plans for this model. I am also developing a full-body version with the L2 engine. You may be interested in another model with the L1 engine - Yak-17:

I intend to develop several simple rocket-powered models and introduce them into the training program for children and adolescents.

How nice to hear from you Marcin. And how nice to add another person to our group. I must say I'm impressed by your goal of getting young people started in aeromodelling. (My craft teacher, who was an ex-RAF Shackelton pilot, did the same for me and many others back in the 1960s.)
I look forward to hearing more from you.
best regards Terry Kidd München.
