Hi guys,

this is an offshoot of the 'Models For 2022' building thread.
Brian Lever has fitted a Terry clip to his KK Sea Vixen, so as to have the choice of fitting a Rapier or a TSP L-2 motor, which are of different sizes.
If Brian were to fit a genuine Jetex 50 clip, as I did with my Cutlass, he would have the option, by using an adapter, of flying with an authentic Jetex 50, a Rapier or a TSP L-2 motor.

'Adapters' can easily be made (see the thread on motor mounts for profile models):

Motor Mounts

Adding tubing to the sides means these can then slide into a Jetex 50 clip:

Howard has a nifty idea for adapting an L-2 motor mount to take a smaller L-1:

"This is a simple to make adapter that allows you to fit a Rapier L1 into a Rapier L2 mount using the metal from a drinks can, I used scissors to cut the thin metal. Shown here in a Jetex Wren, it weighs in at 0.38 grams. It can readily be scaled up to fit a Rapier L2 motor in a mount tube sized for a TSP motor".

Very neat and effective!

I hope all this helps folk adapt Jetex designs to any 'one shot' motor.

Hi David, I use 16 or 18 SWG aluminium tube or (at a pinch) cocktail sticks cut to size. Note these are not put in the middle of the mounting (see photo) so they can engage with the Jetex clip. Make sure they are parallel!
