The initial thrust peak common to these sorts of motors should be ignored and the model launched when you get a steady fizz.

I instigated a rocket duration competition last year and supplied the latest L-1 motors for competitors. My observations then, and experience of the L-1 motors in my own models indicates a thrust of healthy 100 mN. I had some long retrieves!:)

Thank you for the plan advice, I have downloaded the Snowflake II and plan to build one in the future. I think that should be a more ideal size and weight for a better climb.
