Hi Daniel,
nice build. One point: make sure the motor mount is large enough to take a TSP Tender L-2. It's easy enough to modify - enlarge- the 'pod' motor mount of a profile model, but more difficult to modify an internal mount like the one on your current build.

The TSP L-2 is 12 mm diameter 55 mm long. A cardboard tube built to these dimensions (say 12-13 mm ID) can easily be adapted with a cardboard insert to take a Rapier L-2, but a Rapier L-2 mount would need some serious surgery/bodgery to fit the new motors.

You have been warned! :S

Good point Roger. Alternatively you could extend the trough forward a bay so that the motor tube was in the open trough rather than built into the airframe. This would allow the tube to be replaced if need be.

Having said that, the prototype worked fine and if not for bad batches of Rapiers burning holes through their cases and then through the airframe, it would still be going strong today.

Many moons ago, Richard Crossley drew up a plan for the single-sear fighter version of the BV 212:

Chris Strachan made one back in 2002. Flew rather well.
I'd love to see this one in the air again.

Greetings Chaps,
I thought the B&V was the most macabre looking thing that ever flew off Steve's board. Dive bombed me a few times too. Chris Stachan's machine used to knife edge quite a bit.
Haven't built anything lately but I fear there is still lots of time. In fact I haven't built a fleshed out model since Steve threw himself into the time tunnel and was lost somewhere in the infinite corridors of time. Nice to see you.
Andy.
