TOPIC: Jetex-Related Items on eBay

Hi guys,

member Bob had put his Jeticopter on eBay. In response I wrote:

good to have you aboard. The Jeticopter is indeed an interesting item - looks to be in good condition too. I shall watch bidding with interest.

You will have noticed I have broadened the topic to include all Jetex and Rapier related stuff that might appear on eBay.

I had thought about this topic for some time, but delayed drawing guys' attention to some of the good stuff - especially if I was bidding for it!

Prices for Jetex motors, and pellets especially, have gone 'through the roof lately' - 63 quid (British pounds) for three boxes of J 50 ICI pellets?

I see too a fellow is selling some Rapier L-4 motors. Will post them too Bid on these at your peril!

Strangely, eBay sellers will also list Jetex adverts and plans from the old days. Starting bids for these are set quite high - and anyway these nostalgic items should, I think, be shared freely by anyone genuinely interested in Jetex history.

Nevertheless, some nice stuff does come up occasionally - please alert Jetex.org if you see any US profile models for Jetex power!

You are a star. I have never found this web site before and that three view drawing is a gem, so is the section drawing.
Looking at the shape it `s very simple, just a box with a curved upper deck shape, integral sponsons.
I`m wondering how a larger model with a micro ducted fan unit powering it would perform, with that large intake there should be no problem with resricted air flow.

Well, thank you for thanking me!?! Perhaps a ribbed 50 would look authentic on a small model with oversize planning area. I don't think the real thing ever had the full engine shrouds in practice. Shame old Les wrapped it up.

I also have some drawings of Miss Stars and Stripes 2 done by a mutual friend of ours but I promised to sit on them.
