After much procrastination over colour schemes covering has started at last. This is heat shrink Airspan not tissue and hoping to do it in one piece per side, not my favourite part of modelling as despite careful sanding and inspection the covering always reveals a few bloops, oh well get on with it. The plan is to do it in Brit camo from the mid 1950's.

The fuselage covering is now complete, again the second side was done with one piece of Airspan. Slow progress but getting there.

The covering is all done now, the lower of the two wings shows the underside, the right hand end of the wing above shows the socket type attachment area. I can't easily put it all together without gluing it for some quick test glides so that will have wait until after painting, if it doesn't fly well after that I will have to put it down to experience and enjoy it as a hangar queen. I have enjoyed the build so far in any case.
I haven't made two left hand tailplane halves, one is upside down (the lower one) and the section is symmetrical.

It is many years since I last carved a pilot so found this tricky going for a while but slowly got back into it, the mask is a bit humungus and most of it is a freestyle compilation from various pics on the net i.e. made up as I went along! He is only one inch high and the blue foam is easy to damage, I found it quite an advantage to press in some of the details rather than try to carve them with scalpels or sand them in. The weight so far is 0.15g, now I've got to paint him, another tricky operation and hoping I don't mess it up too much.

When I started this pilot I was expecting it to be rather tedious but I've enjoyed doing this more than I thought I would, my OCD has kicked in of course but not too much, here he is in his coat of many colours. Now I must get on with the cockpit interior so he has something sit on, it is all going to be a plug in unit as I made for my Mig 15.

Finally I have got the cockpit interior completed, slow but steady work with a bit of trompe l'oeil thrown in for good measure. It has kept me amused playing with my dolls house :P :P while we are stuck indoors, now I must get on and paint the model etc etc.
